We have released tiqr 3.0.10 for Android. This version fixes some nasty bugs in the previous release (3.0.6). Our apologies to those who experienced issues with their tiqr accounts!
Most notable changes since version 3.0:
- improves scanning of QR codes, for instance inverse codes
- removes mnemonics on PIN entry
- adds Danish translation (thank you Mikkel Hald from WAYF)
- fixes a crash for accounts with a missing logo
- fixes an issue with receiving push notifications with some devices
- fixes an issue where password managers interfere with PIN entry

Issues
Due to a problem with storage on our platform on January 2nd, some users may experience issues with receiving push notifications.
Fortunately, this can be easily resolved by restarting tiqr on your device, and subsequently logging in on services by scanning a QR code instead of relying on a push notification.
After a successful login, the push service will be restored. Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience!

We have received reports from users that tiqr crashes after upgrading to Android 9 (“Pie”). This is a very annoying Heisenbug (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heisenbug), as it was very hard to reproduce. It effected only some users, and it could not be related to specific phone models.
It turns out that Adroid 9 treats byte arrays differently from previous Android releases, which causes trouble when decoding these byte arrays into UTF-8 strings.
We have release a public beta that intends to solve these issues. You can sign up for testing the beta version here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/org.tiqr.authenticator

In May 2011 SURFnet hired Madison Gurkha to perform a security audit on the tiqr application for iOS and Android as well as for the server-side reference implementation. A report containing a summary of the findings of this security audit and details how the vulnerabilities that were identified in the security audit have been mitigated in the current tiqr release is now available. It includes a summary of the results of a re-audit performed by Madison Gurkha in September 2011 on the updated tiqr application and server-side reference implementation.
The main conclusion of the report and the re-audit is that the security of tiqr is more than sufficient
